A Faster Payment lets you send up to £100,000 (limited to £20,000 if you use the app) in, at most, a few hours. Payments can only be made in GBP from within the UK to another bank that accepts Faster Payments.
We’ll process any Faster Payments you make through online banking or the app immediately. They reach the payee in a matter of hours or minutes, even on evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
This is also usually the case if someone sends you a Faster Payment, but it depends on their bank.
Log in to online banking or the app, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and follow the prompts from the ‘Payments and transfers’ menu.

Account balances
As a result of the increased availability of the Faster Payments service, your account balance may change during evenings, weekends and bank holidays, so make sure you have enough money to cover your payments.
Sort codes
For incoming Faster Payments the sort codes are 60-95-34 for Individual Banking customers and 40-51-62 for Corporate Banking customers. However, there are a small number of Individual Banking customers who use this Corporate sort code. Regardless of the sort code used, the payment will be processed.
Reading your statement
If a payment is made or received on a weekend or bank holiday, your statement will show the actual date of the payment in the ‘Details’ column. The ‘Value Date’ will show the next working day after the payment was made or received.
