Watch out for investment ‘opportunities'
We’re hearing about an increase in investment scams.
Fraudsters either cold call or use false ads on social media, promising high returns once you’ve signed up. If you do, you'll be sinking money into stocks and shares that don't exist.
Remember if an investment offer looks too good to be true, it probably is, and there’s no such thing as ‘guaranteed returns’.
Be especially careful if you’re dealing with an intermediary or broker, as you’ll often have no evidence of your investment if the third party disappears.
