Easy
Your Apple device can be your Handelsbanken card. You can add your card in seconds to start making payments without the £100 contactless limit.
Fast
In store and online payments are quicker than ever. Tap your device in store or choose Apple Pay at the checkout to use Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode to pay.
Secure
There's no need to share your card number with retailers, so you know it'll stay safe and secure.
Designed so only you can pay
Apple Pay uses the security features built into your Apple device to help keep your purchases private and secure. All your transactions need Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, so only you can make purchases. Your actual card number is never stored on your device or Apple servers, and is never shared by Apple with retailers, offering an additional level of protection against fraud.
Adding your card
Getting started with Apple Pay is easy across all your devices, you’ll just need to make sure your software is up to date. You can check this in ‘Settings’ on your device.
Individual Banking app – this is the quickest way to set up Apple Pay
- Go to the ‘Cards’ screen and select the card you’d like to use for Apple Pay
- Click ‘Add to Apple Wallet’
- Follow the on-screen instructions
On your iPhone
- Open the Apple Wallet app
- Tap the ‘+’ symbol at the top
- Follow the on-screen instructions
On your Apple Watch
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
- Tap ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’
- Choose ‘Add card’
- Follow the on-screen instructions

Making payments
You can use Apple Pay where you see the contactless symbol:

In store with your iPhone
- If your iPhone has Face ID, double click the side button or if your iPhone has Touch ID, double click the Home button
- Confirm your identity with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode
- Hold your iPhone near the card reader to pay
- ‘Done’ and a tick symbol will be displayed to confirm you’ve paid
In store with your Apple Watch
- Double click the side button on your Apple Watch
- Hold your Apple Watch near the card reader to pay
- ‘Done’ and a tick symbol will be displayed to confirm you’ve paid
Online and in apps
- Tap the Apple Pay option at the checkout if you see it
- Confirm your billing and shipping details if you’re asked
- Complete your purchase with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode
- ‘Done’ and a tick symbol will be displayed to confirm you’ve paid
Turn on Express Mode for transport
When you’re on the move, turn on Express Mode to use Apple Pay on Transport for London, and other participating travel providers, without needing Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. Simply tap your iPhone or Apple Watch at the barriers – even when your phone’s locked – to start or end your journey.
