  • What is a charge card?

A charge card allows you to make purchases up to an agreed limit and repay the balance in full each month. No interest is charged, which can provide up to 45 days’ interest free credit.

  • How does a charge card differ from a credit card?

A charge card enables you to spend up to an agreed credit limit, then pay in full each month. While it works like a credit card, there’s no option of making a part payment. A credit card allows you to borrow and either pay back the amount later. If you fail to pay the balance in full, you’re charged interest on the amount you owe. Handelsbanken don’t offer credit cards.

  • How does a charge card differ from a debit card?

A debit card takes payments directly from your current account balance. A charge card allows you to borrow money up to an agreed credit limit which is then repaid in full each month, offering a different way to manage spending.
