Switching to Handelsbanken is simple and stress-free. You can choose the date you want the switch to be completed – in as little as seven working days.

A smooth process

We will transfer any existing balance and all existing payment arrangements for you including Direct Debits and standing orders, payments that come into your account like salaries, and beneficiaries you already have set up. 

Payments are automatically redirected

Any payments made to or requested from your old account will be redirected to your new account. We will also contact the sender and give them your new account details. This means there is no need to worry about missing payments.

Backed by a guarantee 

In the unlikely event that something goes wrong with your switch, we will refund any interest or charges incurred on your old or new account as a result.

Accounts with overdrafts

Bank accounts that include an overdraft can switch to Handelsbanken using the Current Account Switch Service. If you’d like to have an arranged overdraft with Handelsbanken, please speak to your branch before starting your switch. Your account manager will be able to advise you if you’re eligible for an arranged overdraft, dependent on our lending criteria and your credit status.
