SEPA payments for businesses

What is SEPA?

The SEPA (Single Euro Payment Area) covers over 30 countries including European Union member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

You can make a single one-off euro payment, or set up a regular Direct Debit. You can make payments through online banking, the app or via your branch.

How to make a SEPA payment

Log in to online banking and follow the prompts from the 'Payments and transfers' menu.

To make a SEPA payment, we’ll need to know your payee’s:
  • Full name (or company name) and address
  • IBAN (International Bank Account Number) or account number
  • Name and address of the payee’s bank, including their bank’s Swift/BIC (Bank Identifier Code) code

How to receive a SEPA payment

To receive a SEPA payment, you should give your payer:

  • Your full name (or company name) and address
  • Your account’s IBAN instead of your usual account number. You can find your IBAN on your bank statements
  • Handelsbanken’s Swift/BIC code is HANDGB22
