As demand for more energy efficient property grows, coupled with changes to EPC legislation, making the right investment choice can be rewarding for everyone. We want to help you, not only fulfil your legal obligations, but also strengthen your investment by choosing a corporate loan that has sustainability built in. We’ll give you a preferential interest rate on a buy-to-let or commercial mortgage when you’re buying an energy-efficient property, so you can benefit from a reduced rate, whilst also reducing your emissions.

You can expect a lower rate if you're looking to buy or refinance the following:

  • A residential buy-to-let property with an EPC rating A or B or a commercial property built on or before 31 December 2020, with an EPC rating  A or B
     Energy Performance Certificates are a legal requirement when selling, renting or building a property and contain information about energy use and costs. A rating between A and G is then given and remains valid for ten years. 
  • A commercial property built after 31 December 2020, with an EPC rating A and either a 'Very good' BREEAM rating or a LEED 'Gold' standard certificate  

BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology). This is a global rating system which sets the standards for the environmental performance of buildings through their design, specification and construction. LEED  (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
