Introducing Digital ID

Digital ID is our new security app for Individual Online Banking which helps prevent fraudulent transactions. To log in or authorise transactions, you simply scan the unique QR code presented on screen by using the Digital ID app on your smartphone and then enter your passcode. Digital ID is available on Apple and Android smartphones.

Getting started

To activate Digital ID on your smartphone, make sure you have downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Log in to Individual Online Banking using your log-on card, card reader and cable. Once logged in, click on ‘Mobile Banking’ then ‘Activate Digital ID’.


Log in using the Digital ID app

Select 'Digital ID' when you are on the log-in page, enter your Personal ID, open the Digital ID app on your smartphone and align your phone to scan the QR code displayed on screen, then enter your passcode. You will now be logged in.

Sign using the Digital ID app

You can authorise or ‘sign’ transactions using Digital ID. Click on ‘sign’ in Online Banking, open the Digital ID app and align your phone to the QR code displayed on screen. The transaction details will be displayed within your Digital ID app. Once you have reviewed the details carefully, enter your passcode to complete the signing process.
