If you recommend a new product to an existing Handelsbanken mortgage customer, we’ll pay you a product switching fee equal to 0.25% of the customer’s outstanding mortgage balance at the point the new rate takes effect.
How do I earn a product switching fee?
- You and your firm must be registered with us on or after 28 July 2025. If you’re unsure, please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.
- Complete and submit the product switching fee form below by 12:00pm to guarantee the published rates, if forms are submitted after that time they may not be eligible.
- If the customer is in arrears, please contact us first so we can discuss the available options.
When is a product switching fee not paid?
We won’t pay the fee if:
- you or your firm aren’t registered with us
- the product switching form has not been completed and submitted
- you haven’t advised/recommended the product to the customer; or
- if the customer contacts us directly to confirm their product selection without your involvement.
Contacting customers when their rate is due to expire
We’ll contact customers six months before their existing rate is due to expire confirming the expiry date of their current rate and provide details of the products and rates available at that time.
For some customers including those in arrears or with specific vulnerabilities, we’ll recommend that they take advice, which is a service we can provide.
Keeping you and the customer updated
- Once we receive the completed product switching form from you, we’ll confirm receipt and progress the application.
- We’ll provide you with a copy of the Mortgage Illustration. At the same time, we’ll send the Mortgage Illustration and supporting paperwork to the customer for signature and return.
- We’ll let you know when the new product takes effect and arrange payment of the product switching fee, in line with the agreed terms and conditions.
- We’ll issue the customer with a start of contract letter confirming that their new rate is in place.
