Returning to work

We want to encourage passionate and dedicated professionals, of all genders, to come back to work, using their current skills and developing new ones in an inclusive team environment. That’s where the Handelsbanken Returners Programme comes in. 

Going back to work after a career break can be challenging. Our nine month programme gives you the opportunity to build relationships with like-minded people, share experiences and discuss best practice. 

You’ll attend coaching sessions provided by Career Returners Opens in a new window and have a dedicated ‘buddy’ on our mentoring programme. You’ll be able to take part in a wide variety of workshops and training courses related to your role, all aimed at preparing you for a smooth transition back into financial services.

Programme details

  • Our programme is a nine-month paid return to work opportunity for people  who’ve been out of the workplace for 18 months or more. It’s ideal if you’re looking to refresh your financial services experience, if you’ve previously been in a leadership or mentoring role, or if you simply want to develop in these areas.  
  • The roles we have available as part of this year’s programme are for Corporate Banking Managers or non-certified Private Banking Managers, in branches across our East of England, West Midlands, East Midlands, North of England and Scotland districts.  
  • If successful, you’ll be responsible for the development and maintenance of a small corporate or private banking customer portfolio throughout the programme.
